Non-powered desiccant air dryer
Our company, through technical cooperation with Vanair in the United States and Bauman Co., Ltd. in South Korea, has successfully localized the production of non-powered desiccant air dryers (with eco-friendly desiccant imported from South Korea). Compared with existing air dryers, the desiccant air dryer can be installed anywhere, including hazardous and explosion-proof areas, and can operate without external power. It features a simple structure, easy maintenance, and safe operation. This minimizes operating costs and energy consumption, fills a domestic gap, and serves as an ideal gas purification device for low-pressure or intermittent gas usage terminals.

Dehumidification Principle

Moist compressed air enters the dryer from the bottom of the vessel and passes through the packed Dry-O-Lite dissolving layer. The desiccant absorbs the water vapor from the air like a sponge. Over time, the desiccant slowly hydrates and dissolves, forming liquid that collects at the bottom of the vessel. The dried and clean compressed air is discharged from the outlet at the top of the vessel. The removed dissolved substances are environmentally safe and can be disposed of directly. Sight glasses on both sides of the vessel allow visual confirmation of the desiccant level. The desiccant is formed under 100 MPa high pressure, has strong water absorption capacity, and dissolves very slowly—requiring only 2–3 refills per year. Operation, management, and maintenance are simple and require no special skills; typically, condensed water is discharged every 8 hours. The system is also safe from freezing damage and is the only air dryer that can be installed outdoors at -20°C.

Operating Conditions and Technical Specifications

  • Inlet air temperature: ≤38℃
  • Inlet air pressure: 1 kPa–1.0 MPa (custom orders accepted for pressures below 6.4 MPa)
  • Standard configuration: Cooler + Front-end filter + Dissolving air dryer + Rear-end filter + Integrated bypass piping
  • Pressure dew point: 13℃ lower than the inlet air temperature
  • Cooler types: air-cooled and water-cooled, configured according to site conditions; water-cooled provides better cooling
  • Oil removal function
  • Suitable for particulate filters of 5 μm
  • Lowest initial investment and annual maintenance costs
  • No additional piping required
  • Minimal pressure loss (<1%)
  • Uses non-toxic desiccant (eco-friendly gel)
  • Overcomes installation site limitations (can be used outdoors at -20℃ in winter)

Note:

       1. The design standard for solvent consumption is based on a maximum inlet temperature of 38℃, operating pressure of 0.7 MPa, and a continuous daily operation of 15 hours. Exceeding this duration may affect performance and solvent consumption standards. (The annual average inlet temperature for the dryer is 24℃).

       2. The dissolving-type dryer is generally designed for manual condensate drainage; however, an automatic drain valve can be installed for user convenience.

       3. The solvent used in the dissolving dryer (DOL, SP, etc.) must be protected by an oil removal filter (0.01 μm) and must not come into contact with oil. If oil enters the solvent, the performance and service life of the solvent cannot be guaranteed.

       4. The flow rates listed are standard flows at an operating pressure of 0.7 MPa (100 PSIG). For other operating pressures, refer to the filter pressure correction coefficient.

       5. If technical parameters are modified, the actual product shall prevail, and no further notice will be given.
